From refuge to refuge
Starting in Compaccio, you hike to the Alpe di Tires and the Rifugio Bergamo, where you stay overnight. The next day you hike over the Passo Principe to the Rifugio Antermoia and cross the Val Duron back to the Alpe di Siusi.

Play – Experience – Discover

We believe in promoting an authentic experience of Nature and in raising ecological consciousness through the interaction with its resources: this is why we devised this program for family entertainment All children taking part to 4 adventure initiatives will be nominated “Dolomites Junior Ranger“.

Monday: Treasure hunt on the seabed
Did you know that thousands of years ago there was an ocean here? You can see it from the rock layers and the petrified fossils. Mondays are dedicated to a treasure hunt: with the natural park ranger we discover the Dolomites and, in particular, the Sciliar – Catinaccio massif. Who knows..... maybe we can actually find a treasure!

Tuesday: Discovering flowers
On Tuesdays, we start early for a flower-discovering trip across the Alpe di Siusi. The natural park ranger tells us many interesting stories about different flowers and herbs and explains which flowers belong to protected species. With the help of a magnifying glass we can watch everything closely and identify the flowers which we can later pick up and press in our flower collection album.

Wednesday: An adventurous search for bats
At night, when everything is dark and quiet in the forest, many animals come out from their hiding places. The area around the Lake Laghetto di Fié is a paradise for the Microchiroptera, commonly known as bats. We‘ll lie in wait for these nocturnal mammals and will sure be able to spot some specimens and make their ultrasonic calls audible for us humans. For a group of brave hikers this will certainly be exciting and thrilling!

Thursday: Natural park Olympic games
Olympics take place in the natural park on Thursdays. With fascinating educational games in the park concerning animals and plants, pine cone-throwing, steeplechase and lots more, we can demonstrate our skill and knowledge and can win a fantastic Natural Park Medal.

Friday: Country party for the Dolomites Junior Rangers
On Fridays we can all give an active contribution to the improvement and preservation of the natural park by planting new beds. After that, a fantastic country party with thrilling games will take place. We’ll also cook a delicious barbecue lunch for everybody. Of course, there is no festival without music: we’ll manufacture our own instruments from natural materials. Everybody is very welcome to bring also their musical instruments from home. A Diploma will be given to all hikers taking part in four natural park programs: now you can really say you are a true “Dolomites Junior Ranger“!
